La Mia Ultima Settimana in Italia

La mia ultima settimana in Italia era stupore.  Romana e Fiorella avete guastato me ogni sera.  Ho mangiato tantissimo questa settimana.  Per la mia ultima cena, Fiorella ha fatto uno dei miei preferiti piatti italiano, trippa.  Sono andato al centro ogni sera questa settimana con i miei amici da Siena.  Fabio e Roberto avete insegnato me molte cose mentre mio tempo qui.


Italy is a country that will forever be in my heart.  I have spent 4 months here this time around and 5 in the last year.  The food, the culture, the people, the way of life... I love it.  Do I miss home?  Sure.  But when I go back to America I know I will be missing Italy and all of my friends and "family" and the food and the places... and on and on and on.  Sono Americano ma anche Italiano. 

I will return and I will always maintain the connections I have made during my time in Italy.  I will end this blog with a line I used in my very first entry.  My sister bought me a book on Italian Cuisine before my first trip to Italy and the title completely sums up the Italian way of life.

Pasta. Pesto. Passion.

Chiocciola Battesimo

Ero fortunato la mia famiglia italiana mi ha portato alla festa dello battesimo della Chiocciola Contrade.  La mia famiglia italiana hanno una nipote.  Era batezzata e siamo andati alla festa per lei.  Dopo il battesimo alla chiesa della contrade abbiamo fato cena a ristorante al gato.   Ho avuto un buonissima sera con mia famiglia. 

Palazzo Chigi

Palazzo Chigi.  Ho passato da questo edificio ogni giorno su mia via a scuola.  Ancora, ho preso il giro di italiano.  Questo tempo, la guida era piu difficile comprendere.  Questo palazzo e un conservatorio di musica. E evidente che questa familia era molto ricca. 

While the tour was not that clear to me because this tour guide used many italian words I had never heard before, the building was amazing.  Each of the different "stanze" were more ornate than the previous.  I think my favorite part of the building was the Franz Lischt Piano, I was very impressed by the amount of importance that has passed through the palazzo over the centuries.

I stumbled upon this first church.  I tried looking up information on it and from what I can tell it has two names.  The official church name is Church of Saint Anthony the Abbot.  There are no relics but it was quite an interesting church and the front froyer had some really old ambulance carriages.

Santa Maria di Provenzano is one of my favorite churches in Siena.the highlight of this church is the picture of the Madonna di Provenzano.  According to legend, on July 2, 1552 a spaniard shot at the picture of the madonna but the gun malfunctioned and ended up killing the shooter.  It is for this reason that the July Palio in Siena is ran on July 2nd.  However crazy the story is the church is gorgeous and I think has the most cultural connection to Siena.

Teatro di Rinnovati

Sono andato al Teatro di Rinnovati.  Ho comprato il biglietto e la venditora di biglietti ha dato me un sconto.  Ho pagato solo due euro.  Sono aspettato la guida.  Ho preso la guida di italiano.  C'era molto difficile capire. La guida era molto simpatica ma ha parlato con troppo velocita.  Il teatro era bellissimo.  Secondo al Comune di Siena, il Teatro di Rinnovati e il piu importante teatro nella cita.  Era costruito e ristrutturato molte volte, quindi il nome dello teatro.  Mi sono piaciuto il teatro. Ho chiesto la guida quando il prossimo concerto era, pero c'era non piu. 

Chiesa di Fontana Guista

Questa chiesa, era la mia prima chiesa che sono andato, sfortunatamente.  Questa chiesa e molto alesaggio.  *In English*  This church has no notable aspects that would merit a visit to me.  There is according to Roberto (our Italian teacher) a famous fresco by Baldassare Peruzzi, a Senese painter.  However I wouldn't waste my time going to this church over the others in the city.

Lezioni con Fabio

Lunedi, ho iniziato la mia classe con Fabio.  Andiamo a Key Largo e leggiamo i giornali ogni mattina.  Dopo classe, sono andato in cerca di chiese.  Ma sfortunatamente, quando sono andato era pomerrigio e ogni chiesa era chiuso.  E molto difficile andare chiese quando loro apertono.
